Cathedral of Santa Eulalia

This Gothic cathedral was built over the 13th to 15th centuries, and the facade is more recent, from 19th century, and it is the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona. Saint Eulalia of Barcelona was a young virgin, according to the Catholic tradition, who suffered torture during the Roman times in this place. The story tells us that she was exposed naked in the public square, but a sudden snowfall in mid spring appeared, to cover her nudity. After that she was put in a barrel with knives and rolled down the street by the Romans. Saint Eulalia´s tomb is in the cathedral´s crypt.
